Getting Fruity for Cancer Research…

…and a years supply of free fruit for all at Serif

Getting Fruity for Cancer Research

In May 2008 Serif supported World Cancer Research Fund’s with “Fruity Friday”. The day was designed to raise awareness of the fact that about a third of cancers can be prevented through following a healthy lifestyle, and it was a great excuse for everyone here to dress up and get involved – even the Managing Director who became Bananaman for the day. After a successful trial in the call centre, we decided to provide free fruit for every department that participated in Fruity Friday by dressing in yellow… and whose head of department dressed as a banana.

There were bonus fruit-related prizes for the most yellow department and each department raised additional funds for the charity by organising entertaining. It was all good fun but with a serious underlying message and an opportunity to raise awareness and money for a good cause.
