MoviePlus X6 Voted Best Software Product by Top Technology Magazines

October 24, 2012 – MoviePlus X6, the powerful video editor from creative software publisher Serif, has been named the Best Software Product of the Year at the annual Computer Shopper and Expert Reviews Awards in London.

Serif’s MoviePlus X6 was up against software titles from Adobe, Propellerhead and Xara, but was voted the favourite by the editors of Computer Shopper and Expert Reviews.

David Ludlow, Group Editor of Computer Shopper and Expert Reviews, said: “Our software category celebrates the best products released this year. To make the shortlist we look for innovative software that stands out from the crowd. This year we felt that Serif’s MoviePlus X6 had that perfect combination of features, price and incredible ease-of-use that meant it beat the ‘big names’ in video editing.”

MoviePlus X6, launched in March 2012, has already enjoyed a great reception from the press and customers alike, gaining excellent reviews from around the world in the first few months. Expert Reviews and Computer Shopper rated MoviePlus X6 five stars in July 2012, and also honoured the movie editor with the magazines’ Best Buy award.

“More and more people want to create home movies to share with family and friends, so we wanted to create a program that brings powerful and easy-to-use video editing to everyone – all at an affordable price,” says Gary Bates, Managing Director at Serif. “For MoviePlus to be shortlisted as one of the top four software products by such prestigious technology magazines is an honour in itself, so we’re absolutely delighted that it won the award for Best Software Product of the Year.”
