Recycling electronic goods

At Serif we’re committed to encouraging our customers to recycle more goods in order to help protect the environment. However, we understand that recycling some electrical / electronic products, including some items that we sell (such as PC gadgets / digital cameras etc.) can be difficult as they are not permitted to be disposed of in ‘Wheelie Bins’ along with other household items. To help consumers to recycle their Electrical and Electronic Equipment, a new set of European regulations have come into force – the ‘WEEE Directive’.

Information on the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive – (WEEE Directive)

From 2nd January 2007 all Electronic and Electrical Equipment (EEE) sold in the EU must be marked with this symbol to indicate that it is covered by the WEEE Directive, the provisions of which require that producers or manufacturers of EEE become liable to pay for take-back treatment and recycling of end of life equipment (WEEE):

As a distributor of some EEE products, Serif (or Gizoo) must facilitate the take-back of household WEEE from UK consumers and has decided to fulfill its obligations by joining the Government-approved “Distributor Take-Back scheme’ (DTS).
