How can I get outline text that has a colored core, rather than transparent?

Article Content: Beginner
Author: Geoff Blanthorn

Answer:

Earlier versions of PagePlus (up to PagePlus 6) gave Outline Text a white fill by default, but the PagePlus 8 default leaves it hollow (transparent) so that any background will show through. If you want it to be opaque the solution is quite simple:

  1. Create the text in its own frame, and color it as you wish (I've used yellow in the example , as you can see.)

  2. Select the frame by clicking on its border, and holding down the Ctrl key drag out a copy using the left mouse-button (while the cursor is displayed as a 4-way arrow).

  3. Right-click on one of the frames, and choose Text Format/Character. In the Dialogue (Font tab), check the Outline box, and choose the color for the outline (black in the example).

  4. 4 Now select both frames, and align them using Arrange/Align Objects. Send the solid version (yellow in the example) to the back, and group them.
