I would like to print my own CD labels which come 2 up on a sheet of 8½ x 11" stock, but I can not find that label
configuration or template in PagePlus 8?

Answer:
This is very easily accomplished using the PagePlus Master Page feature and a scan of the label. Let
me explain how I would go about this.

First, using PhotoPlus or a similar product, I would scan a copy of the label stock at 100% size, 72 dpi and ex-
port it as a JPG file. Then, open a new PagePlus document, in portrait orientation, same size as your label stock.
In my example I will be using US letter size (8½ x 11). With your new PagePlus document open click once on
the Current Page box in the lower left hand corner of your screen which will open to the Master Page view.
From that view import your scan of the label stock and adjust size (if needed) so it is exactly the size of your
page. See figure 1

Click once again on the Current Page box in the lower left hand corner of your screen to return to Page 1. You
will see your label scan on Page 1 but will not be able to select, move or alter the item. From here I would use
the quick shapes-ellipse tool, holding down the shift key to draw a circle and size as needed for the top label.
Once you have the size good, CTRL drag to make a copy and place it over the bottom label. Follow the same
steps for the small inner circle if you wish - though not necessary it may aid in placement of text or graphics. I
would then set up guides by clicking on the rulers and adjusting as needed. See figure 2

You are now free to turn off the viewing of the Master Page object by selecting View - Master Page Objects
and removing the check from Show Master Page Objects in the dialog box. See figures 3 & 4. This will prevent
the label scan from printing. Alternatively, you can delete it if you wish.

You now can color or fill the labels with text, fills etc as desired. See figure 5.
You will need to test print this on plain paper or a photocopy of your label stock before printing to the actual
label stock and tweak as necessary for perfect alignment.
Throughout your project practice good computing skills by saving frequently, and consider saving the final
product as a template for easy reuse.
