Serif (Europe) Ltd Nottingham, UK 13 March 2009 PRESS RELEASE Nottingham business raises a total of £1590 for Comic Relief Serif smashes amount they previously donated to Comic Relief by over 200% Wilford-based software company Serif (Europe) Ltd is thrilled to have raised £1590 amount for Comic Relief 2009. This was achieved by making a donation of £1 for every UK order placed on Red Nose Day – Friday 13th March. Serif’s 200 employees also took part in the fundraising by competing in a red-themed fancy dress contest with Serif contributing £2 for every employee who wore red or red fancy dress and £10 for anyone dressed completely in red. Nearly all staff participated with some going the whole hog by coming to work completely dressed in red, we even had one member of staff in a red riding hood costume – the photographs speak for themselves! Winners were selected for the “reddest department” as determined by colour saturation in team photographs and “reddest effort” for the person in the most red outfit or red fancy dress. Additional money was raised by selling home made cakes, a “guess the number of sweets in the jar” competition and by a brave member of staff, Tony Blunt, having his head shaved! “The theme of comic relief this year was to do something funny for money and we have certainly had a laugh here today at Serif!” comments Gary Bates, Managing Director of Serif. “But on a serious note we have managed to raise a fantastic amount for a great cause and we would like to thank both our customers and staff for getting involved.” In the last year, Serif and its 200 employees have raised monies for various causes, including breast cancer, prostate cancer and World Cancer Research.
