PhotoPlus Competition 2012 Winner

The grand prize winner for the PhotoPlus competition 2012 is… CK NG of Indonesia! Congratulations! His fantastic entry of the harvest celebration was a clear favourite.

This photo was taken at Padang, Indonesia, where the farmers were celebrating their Harvest Festival. They want the bulls to run through the field as they believe this will bring luck for them and a better harvest for the next year.

“I was standing in front of the bulls, and using the zoom lens to capture it. After shooting I had to run to the side immediately to avoid being hit by the bulls!” CK NG

CK used a Nikon D700 and 70-200mm Nikon lens to take this photo. The settings were: f/6.3, S 1/2500 & ISO 800. He also did some editing like cropping, burning, sharpen, and increased vibrance and contrast.
